My first tutorial! I had a few friends asking me to make one at one point or another after they saw a few of my colored pics and the colored pages of my comic. I've never made on before so I figured this to be an interesting challenge.

:bulletred:First tutorial by me ever; so go easy on me! =P
:bulletred:DOWNLOAD and check it out - it's not too, too big

I just got stuck following the use of the lasso tool. When I lay down the background color, everything turns that color and I lost my drawing. I don't know how to use the lasso tool to select my drawing. I just got lost here because I've never colored with the channel thing (and I find it hard to get).

Forget that, I just selected the wrong channel xD

However, I still have trouble with the lasso tool. My drawing is big and I can't circle it all without activating the lasso. And, in case that I succeed, what do I do with the selected area? You painted your character in orange with the paint tool?

If you double click on that channel you'll get the options to change the color that the line appears as. You can also adjust the lines opacity.

what swatches did you have up and what formula do you have for getting to a "lighter, warmer color"? (I'm a nub) also, since I couldn't see, what opacity and flow settings did you use as you highlighted the hair? Did you change the settings AT ALL in between hair highlights?
